Alma is a multidisciplinary movement studio in the heart of Hawke’s Bay.
Founded by Los Angeles-born, Havelock North-based yoga practitioner Danielle Harper, it is a community-focused space that champions the idea that ‘movement is medicine’. From yoga to pilates to meditation, Alma welcomes everyone to experience the magic of connecting with your mind and body.
As a new offering looking to establish itself as an industry leader not only in its hometown, but across Aotearoa, Alma required a website to reflect this. It needed its online presence to be as inspiring as its studio space. Whether users are booking a class, participating in a video session outside the studio walls, or discovering Alma’s backstory, the website needed to be simple, compelling and evoke a feeling of ease.

The new website draws inspiration from the meaning of Alma — ‘nourish’ and ‘soul’. Built on the Shopify platform, it fulfils the client and user needs in a way that is concise and effective, yet inspiring and uplifting. Clear navigation and thoughtful user flow ensure no questions are left unanswered when it comes engaging with the space and its offerings — be it for the first time or as a regular. The site is fully integrated with wellness platform Mindbody to ensure a seamless experience. There is also the opportunity for e-commerce integration as the business grows and evolves.
